I bricked my Z2 in less than 24 hours

December 31, 2009

So my totally most awesome girlfriend got me a Z2 for christmas. Within 24 hours, I bricked the thing because I am lame and wanted debian on it badly.

The great people in the irc.freenode.net #zipit channel have been a great help in getting this badboy back up and running, and distro flashable.

I will be documenting the serial port mod that I'm going to install here

First time opening a zipit 2
This is the first picture that I took of the open zipit; sorry it's crappy, cell phone was only charged camera at the time!

Heading to the local electronics supply store [Orvacs] to get some wires and parts to get started. My dad would be proud of me.

OK, so I did some work for a friend and they delivered my new Z2 from zipit wireless instead of target like my currently bricked and 3 wired awaiting sample chip z2.

This is the SD card prior to putting it into the Z2. I have this here to be sure that I don't FUBAR this Z2 as well!

SD card contents prior to Z2 injection
